However plantings in New Zealand are on the rampage thanks to wines like this one, that have fruit that’s so bouncy and vibrant it’s like a pear the size of a space hopper. “The zesty character of this zinger from New Zealand tickles an absolute treat.”"

Of the 2012 vintage, Hamish Anderson said: “A marketing department has taken liberties here as this has more in common with an opulent Alsatian pinot gris (the same grape) than a neutral Grigio. Semantics aside it’s a cracker. Spice, musk and peachy fruit vie for your attention. Off-dry, it would be perfect for spiced, barbecued prawns.”

Pinot Gris flourishes at Seaview, with pure fruit flavours prevailing along with a crisp minerality that is evident through all our wines. The vines planted are of the Berrysmith clone which produces smaller berries and bunches, giving more intense flavours.
