Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
A beautifully complex wine with upfront aromas of blackberry, pepper and herbal notes.
Maturation in oak imparts a savoury character and soft dry tannins which balance the dark berry and earthy notes, to form a long, lingering finish.
This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 5 years

Anthony Rose - The Independent Magazine 19/04/2014
Of the 2010 vintage, Anthony Rose said: “So, while having a brand – as opposed to being connected to an estate – isn't, per se, a bad thing, the lesser-known names are usually the best options. McGuigan's The Shortlist brand, for instance, comprises an excellent range of wines at reasonable prices. The floral-scented McGuigan The Shortlist Riesling, is great. Equally, the McGuigan The Shortlist Cabernet Sauvignon, is fragrantly leafy.”
The McGuigan family have been producing wine in Australia for four generations. The Shortlist range is a selection of multi-award winning wines that represent the unique flavour and character of each varietal as well as the influence of the terroir on the wine. Each bottle is individually numbered. McGuigan was recently named the International Wine and Spirit Competition Australian producer of the year and International Winemaker of the year for an unprecedented third time in four years.
The fruit for this wine is harvested from two vineyards in the southern part of the renowned Coonawarra region, in South Australia. This area has a long ripening period which enables the development of great varietal flavours and intensity.
