Northeast Italy has a long tradition of producing quality sparkling wine and this pair from the Cesarini Sforza winery are seriously classy. They’re made from the traditional Champagne grapes, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (or Pinot Nero in Italian), grown in the spectacularly beautiful region of Trentino, tucked deep into the Alps – and they’re exactly what you’ll find the locals drinking in the smart bars of nearby Venice and Verona.
The Cesarini Sforza Spumanti wine company was founded in 1974 with the goal of producing high quality Trentinian sparkling wines. Over the last years the company has become successful in selecting numerous vineyards of Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes in the best areas of Trentino. Cultivation and harvest management is left entirely to the enologists.
The Trentino is a region with a great heritage and with a unique vocation for growing optimum grapes for quality spumante wines. The grapes come exclusively from the classic Trento DOC Metodo Classico production area, between 350 and 650 metres above sea level.
