A gold medal winner, from the slightly cooler Rioja Alta region in Spain, this is a beautifully crafted mature wine made soley from the Tempranillo grape by Baron de Ley.
With sweet dark cherry fruit and a seductively soft oaky character, this is marvellously mellow.
Sip fireside, or enjoy with slow roasted red meats.
This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 3 years

Olly Smith - BBC Saturday Kitchen 20/12/2014
Of the 2007 vintage, Olly Smith said: "“This wine comes from northern Spain – it’s 100% Tempranillo and has been aged in oak barrels to give a savoury elegance to the wine. If you see Gran Reserva on a bottle of Rioja it’s been aged in a barrel for at least 2 years, and in a bottle for at least three years, and what that gives to the wine, well it’s a bit like a meal in the hands of a great chef – it’s ready to go and seasoned to perfection. Pull my cracker it’s a belter!” “Perfectly poised to jingle all the way.”"
Anthony Rose - The Independent Magazine 17/01/2015

David Williams - The Observer Magazine 22/03/2015
