The story of Château Clément Pichon dates back to the XIXth century when it was know as La Motte Caupène. After having belonged to successive families and twice hosting King Louis XIV, the château was rebuilt by the Durand-Dassier family in 1881 after a fire. This architectural curiosity which is of Renaissance inspiration was acquired by Clement Fayat in 1976. He completely recreated the 25 hectare vineyard.
Located at the very southern end of the Médoc region, just north of Bordeaux, this magnificent Château lies in the commune of Parempuyre. The wine is classified as Cru Bourois. Clément Fayat, the owner since 1976, has invested in the vineyards and winemaking, with a healthy mix of tradition and technology. The vines are well establised, with an average age of 25 years. This is prime vineyard land, with 25 hectares planted on iron-rich, gravelly soils. Made from a classic blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the end result is rich and powerful.
