Complex and richly textured with spice, Morello cherries, coffee and even a hint of chocolate, there’s so
much going on in the glass; this is a real statement wine.
It absolutely demands food to really bring out the flavours and soften those tannins - Roasted red meats are best, especially lamb, beef or game - It works brilliantly with strong, hard cheeses too, and if possible, decant it for an hour before serving.
This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 5 years.

"Cantina Di Soave" began in 1898. Nowadays it is one of oldest and biggest wine-producer in Italy, very well known for its quality and reliability. We are absolute leader with VERONA-wines (Soave, Bardolino, Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone, etc) and other VENETO-wines (Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Cabernet, Merlot). The wine region lies between Lake Garda and Venice, in Italy’s Veneto region. Its full name is Amarone della Valpolicella and Amarone was first made as a result of a winemaker leaving another wine, Recioto, in the barrel for too long! Made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes, they are picked and partially dried after harvest in lofts over the winter. This process is known as appassimento. The grapes are then pressed the following spring and aged in oak barrels. Because the grapes are dried, the natural sugars are concentrated. But rather than making the wine taste sweet, it is actually rich and dense with lots of incredible flavours. Think Port, but without the fortification!
