Regional info
Jancis Robinson described the Barossa Valley as "Australia's quintessential wine region". Certainly, it's one of the country's oldest winegrowing areas, first cultivated in the 1840s. However, it was only in the 1980s the Barossa really found fame, especially for Shiraz. The climate is typically hot and dry and it's this in particular which helps to give its red wine their signature rich, full-bodied style
