The origins of Garofoli go back to 1871 and it is still family run. The same philosophy has always guided the company: constant updating of production techniques, but with respect for traditional and historic systems of winemaking.

The Marche region is situated in central Italy and extends from the Apennines to the Adriatic coast. Sea breezes ensure summer temperatures are moderate, helping to achieve the best quality grapes.

Spending time in le Marche has made me quite fond of the local Verdicchio for its crisp and refreshing taste. While not quite as good as what one typically gets in Italy--but, then, everyting tastes better in Italy--this offering by Tesco is a very decent representative of that wine at a very good price. My wife and I did some blind tasting against similar Verdicchios from other retailers and this came out on top, and a good deal cheaper. It is likely to be our white table wine for the foreseeable future.

This was our choice for table wine for christmas dinner. It is a crisp dry wine and It had a slight tang to it that worked really well with Turkey and cranberry flavours. An overall winner with all 16 around the table.

This wine is crisp clear and one of the best dry white Italian wines in the price range. Quaffable and suitable for the cut glass connoisseur. Outstrips many in the higher price bracket.

One of the best everyday white wine at a really good price , with the most refreshing fruit flavours that last. Better than those frenchy wines!

We visit Italy often and have found this wine to be typically good of the Jesi region. It is a light, dry and crisp wine with subtle hints of peach and almonds. It goes well with fish and if you like white - with most meats as well! This is our favourite white wine and we buy it often. Highly recommended and of extremely good value. Perhaps we should not have given it such a good write up as it will sell out quicker and not be available to us.
