Top class Malbec

This review is for the 2010 vintage

With more and more Malbecs appearing on wine lists there has never been a better time to try the different styles. This one is near the top of what is generally available, very smooth and with upfront fruit and dark in colour, it is high in alcohol but this is not evident when drinking, it probably lacks the class of say the Catena offerings and one or two others but this is very good and gives the impression it will take some bottle age so I will put some away to see what changes occur and if it improves.

Black as night, but smooth as silk.this is a lovely wine.Full bodied, cherry and chocolate to the fore. it glides down the gullet with effortless ease.Great with food,a beef casserole, in this case, but with soft tannins, making it a wine to drink by itself if no food was available. What a hardship - I definitely don't think!A 100% definite to buy again.

I bought this wine based on the previous reviews and I was not disappointed. I will echo the reviews already made ... this is a lovely lovely wine, really smooth and silky and a great price.

This is quite simply the best tasting wine I've come across in my short time of drinking better wines. I tried this at the Tesco wine fair in Edinburgh 2012 and it was exceptional.

Very full, smooth and velvety, on our budget we've got a dozen of these stashed for special occasions, almost too good for daily usage. Highly recommended, will not disappoint.

Big fan of this fantastic Malbec

This is a fantastic wine. It tastes of vanilla, butter, strawberries and cheeries. Once decanted for a few hours the tannins will soften, be patient as once they have this bottle could be fooled for a much pricier wine than it actually costs. Very very silky after around three hours of breathing with a 30 second finish. Robert Parker rates this wine 90/100 points. If you like the Malbec grape generally this wont disappoint. I have got through around 20 bottles of this and will be back for more; but obviously taste is subjective.

A very special wine

For most of us this is not a wine for everyday drinking but for that special occasion it compares extremely well with Chateauneuf du Pape, in fact many prefer it. When Tesco have it available, it is sensibly priced for this quality.
