"Bright ruby red in colour with floral aromas with jasmine being the most prevalent.
An opulent richness with hints of spice and oak.
The aromas filter through onto the palate with red berry flavours being prominent.
This wine shows great structure with rich fruit with spicy overtones and a long lingering finish."

What our expert says
The three grape varieties in the SMG blend benefit from the Mediterranean climate in the Guardian Peak vineyards where the rainfall is 650mm per annum. The vineyards are located high up on the northern slopes of the Helderberg Mountain. This contribution imparts warmer fruit flavours to the wine. In summer, the vineyards’ close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean result in cool sea breezes that keeps temperatures lower, extending the ripening period..
