All of the four Protege reds are much of a muchness. We had a slight preference for the Shiraz/Cab over the straight Shiraz.

This was a good drinkable wine but not as good as I expected from the Tim Adams stable. It ticked all the boxes great fruit taste with a peppery edge and was very respectable. Somehow though there was something missing.

Not as good as the Tim Adams Shiraz but that one was not discounted... A little harsh for 2008 hence the four rather than five stars. Improves after opening. When at sub 10£ un-beatable.

Full bodied Shiraz, excellent with food

We bought one case of this Shiraz to try, liked it very much and bought three more cases! It is full-bodied (very important for us), fruity, but non-acidic. Important to let it breathe for a while before drinking - we know that's said about a lot of wines, but it is true for this one. Best drunk slowly with a nice meal.

Although made in 2007 but doesn't taste old at all. Value for money. Fully recommended.

Full bodied with sustained taste after initial opening; many wines develop significant tanning taste within day or so of opening.

An excellent value wine of real character and body. Probably just past its peak, but a real stunner nevertheless.
