A generous bouquet is of cherry, then after aeration it becomes more complex with hints of toast and more mineral notes of damp earth.

Bertrand Straebler was born in 1963. He became the Winemaker for Labouré-Roi in 1995. “Initially, I modelled my wine by imitating the older, traditional produce. Later, I let my imagination roam, abandoning empirical methods & modelling the vines with the respect they deserve. I always maintained the authentic balance of the landscape & soil. Every year, I work hard to respect what nature entrusts to me & pass on this creative work, to give pleasure to all those who love great Burgundy wines.”
This vineyard extends over about 300 hectares, divided among the districts of Premeaux-Prissey (50 hectares) and Nuits Saint Georges (250 hectares). It is made up of a hilly area to the north and a flatter area to the south. The soil is loamy, marly and calcareous with rocks at the top of the slopes, and the altitude lays between 240-300m.
