Of the 2008 vintage, Jamie Goode said: “A blend of the classic Champagne varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, this is a stylish fizz with some nutty richness. It's fresh, fruity and fabulous.”
The first vines were planted at Tenterden in the late 1970's and the vineyard has been continuously producing English wines from this site ever since. Chapel Down now also owns a second vineyard in Aylesford, Kent and manages a number of vineyard sites in the local area. Grapes are sourced from our own vineyards and professional growers in Kent, Sussex and Essex. Chapel Down produces quality English sparkling wines and fantastic still white rosé and red wines under the Chapel Down brand.
The Chapel Down Winery is situated just outside the picturesque market town of Tenterden, in the beautiful Weald of Kent. We have sourced grapes for this wine form sites in the South-East of England where we have identified 'terroir' ideal for growing the fruit that goes into our world class sparkling wines.
