Pale straw yellow colour.
Fruity nose due to the varietal blend and the short bottle ageing.
Harmonious on the palate with apple and hints of toast.
Very well balanced, good freshness and pleasant acidity level.

Olly Smith - Live Magazine, Mail on Sunday 20/01/2013"If you'd prefer bubbly, Tesco Demi-Sec Cava at £4.99 copes well with mild spice thanks to its off-dry fruity character."
In 1551, Jaume Codorníu began making still wines in Penedès, Spain. In 1872, having studied the ‘champenoise method’ of sparkling wine production in Northern France, Josep Raventós, a descendant of Codorníu, applied the technique to the traditional Penedès grape varieties of Macabeo, Parellada & Xarel.Lo and created the first bottle of Cava. Today Codorníu is an award-winning winery with the best selling Cava brand in the UK and back home in Spain.
Bruno Colomer Marti
The grapes used in making Tesco Cava Demi Sec come mainly from the area with the most Mediterranean climate in D.O. Cava, where local varieties exhibit their authentic character.

This is a really pleasant drink, I have given it to guests and it has gone down a treat - it has been nice to drink alone and with food!! Really lovely flavour. I was surprised how much I like this sweeter drink as I usually like dry prosecco. Fantastic value for money.

This is the first time I have tried tesco cava and was pleasantly surprised with the quality. It is light and easy on the palate and can be drunk on any occasion. Excellent value for money.

Purchased for christmas parties and would reccomend. On it's own it is a pleasent tasting fizz, I usually go drier but followed other reviewers advice and found this to be lovely. I also used as a mixer with a rasberry liquoir and crushed ice with fresh rasberries--superb!!

Excellent Cava at a great price. Demi Sec is very easy on the palate. Always very popular with our family and friends. An excellent Cava to drink on its own or with a drop of Raspberry & Cranberry juice and a strawberry. Always a favourite in our house for Christmas and New Year.

We as a family love this wine when chilled as we have a sweet palate and this fits the bill beautifully. Even as an additive to a champagne cocktail it's delicious and we have it every Christmas Day.

This is a lovely wine. When you see demi sec you imagine the wine would be quite sweet but not at all. Most of my friends enjoy a drier wine but they never refuse a glass which is interesting! Its not always available at my local store which is a shame.

This Cava just hit the spot and the spot was a birthday lunch party for a spritly 95 year old. Served alone, great, served as bucks fizz, great, served as peach bellinis, out of this world. I usually only have seco but this was fresh and refreshing and not overly sweet even with its additions. This Cava went down well with a wide range of ages.

For someone that adores champagne, but not always having the right occasion to pop a cork. Tesco's cava is right and affordable for an excuse to enjoy some fizz, we buy this buy the case load and everyone enjoys it must not knowing the difference.! Enjoy

sometimes the only way I can purchase this product is through tesco wine club , our local supermarket seem to 'run out' of demi sec and only stock the 'dry' version (especially when there is a rare deal on)! I prefer this brand and find it 'nice, crisp and bubbly'.
