Intensive and vivid red colour.
Very rich, aromatic and structured wine, rounded tannins, soft and elegant wine.

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 2 years
Fiona Beckett - The Guardian Weekend 09/06/2012Of the 2011 vintage, Fiona Beckett said: "…riper and more structured."
Jane MacQuitty - The Times 01/09/2012Of the 2011 vintage, Jane MacQuitty said: "An inky, 14 per cent alcohol whopper, whose plummy, zesty, grenache fruit is topped up with a dollop each of spicy syrah and burly mourvèdre."
Grown in the north of Vaucluse between Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Rasteau in the plain of Plan de Dieu. The vines are 30-50 years old, giving layers of flavour to the wine.
Thierry Walet
The vineyard is planted on chalky-clay soil. 2011 has been an exceptional year: an unseasonably warm spring, a spring-like summer and an ideal autumn.

This wine has the perfect combination of grapes for a well-rounded taste - Grenache,Syrah & Carigan. The vines are grown near the Chateauneuf du Pape area but this wine is a fraction of those prices.

Smooth, tasty red with all you would expect from a wine from this area. Its soft enough to drink on its own or with pate or cheese. Bold enough for red meats too.

This wine is as good a Cotes du Rhone as it gets, and represents really good value. It is perfectly balanced and in my opinion as good as if not better than many Chateaunuef du Pape wines available which cost a lot more, its not too heavy and easy to drink on its own or with most foods, will definitely buy again in the near future.

This is an excellent wine. Perhaps a shade above medium bodied, smooth, mellow and with a great flavour. We will certainly purchase again. Generally we tend to favour Australian wines - a particular favourite is Hardys Crest Cabernet Shiraz Merlot. This wine however would at least run it a close second. Say what you like about French wines, when you get a good one (which this is) they are hard to beat.

I love this well balanced wine from the Southern Rhone, typical grapes and seems to be well made. Please make more available, particularly at that special discount price.

Nice medium-bodied above average Cotes du Rhone. Not outstanding, but at the price it is a very acceptable quaffer with or without food.

This red Cotes du Rhone Villages is absolutely delicious. It is full of ripe flavours and subtle perfumes without being overbearing. It is pleasant to drink and not too strong. It's only downside is that it slips away very quickly. I thoroughly and truthfully recommend this wine to all red wine enthusiasts.

Great value all round. The balance of flavours and aromas are just right. Best when drunk a day after opening.

I thought this wine would tick all the boxes, region and write up however I found it to be too sweet to use as a quaffing wine for most occasions. The dozen bottles purchased have been allocated to the kitchen for rich stews, ragus and sauces - so not a disaster after all.

Found to be a bit " hangovery" - not drinking the whole bottle

This wine is produced in a region very near to Chatneuf du Pape, and has a similar quality without the high price tag. We shared this with family over the Christmas period and everyone was amazed. Best decanted

A decent cotes de Rhone for the price, good value for a wine that you might like to have for everyday quaffing.

A really good but moderately priced wine, fruity yet with enough body to complement the meaty texture of the Christmas turkey and its complementary sauces. A bargain, would buy it again.

This is a delicious Cotes Du Rhone...juicy and slightly peppery - but it comes into its own if you let it have some air! Wiine has been cooped up in a bottle to keep it from the air whilst it is being 'stored' and once it is opened it should be given the chance to take a big glug of air and flex its taste muscles. This is a simple process just pour the wine into a decanter or water jug to give it access to air. This can be done with a bit of a flourish as you are not in this case dealing with the removal of sediment in the wine- just the addition of air. Temperature also makes a difference- room temperature for this wine is good, but if you are caught with a bottle of cold wine which is needed there and then heat the recepticle you are going to decant it into NOT the wine itself. Repeat the decanting process a couple of times and this will speed up the aeration and drinkability of the wine. Decanting( or giving air) improves almost all still wines even plonky ones.

Very good value, I found this particular year a little lighter then normal, but a very acceptable wine.

This is my favourite wine - I am nor by any way a wine expert but this wine is very drinkable and has a spicy overtone to its rich and smooth body.

We have ordered this three times now because it's modestly price with a flavor that doesn't over power any accompanying food. Also great as an aperitif with nibbles.JohnWW

Easy drinker for a french wine for which you dont necessarily need food. Suggest you leave to air for 20 minutes before drinking.
