Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
Aromas of lifted blackberries, spice and a touch of blueberries.
Pure fruit and spice.
A seamless soft but structured shiraz, lots of blackberries again but also a mid-palate dark chocolate spice.
There is some cream and spice from the French Oak and an almost chalk like tannin structure but it’s all about the pure fruit.
This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 2 years
Matthew Jukes - Weekend, Daily Mail 22/02/2014
Of the 2011 vintage, Matthew Jukes said: “The 2011 vintage was not a hot one so this wine is less muscular and pumped up than the 2010. This means that award-winning winemaker Elena Brooks has engendered a harmonious, genial character to the wine.”
Heirloom Vineyards was conceived in vintage 2000, when a young winemaking student caught the eye of a silly old wine judge. A love story ensued inspired by two vows: To preserve the best of tradition, the old world of wine and our unique old vineyards and to champion the best clones of each variety planted in the most appropriate sites embracing the principals of organic and biodynamic farming. Seven long vintages of trial and error passed before Heirloom Vineyards could make a wine that was fine enough to pass on to future generations. That is this wine.
Grapes are from an old vine vineyard in the Barossa with vines over a hundred years old, many on original rootstock.
