A ripe, smooth, medium-bodied red, with soft, juicy flavours of grapes and summer pudding.
This soft, comforting red is an ideal match to simple suppers such as pizza or cheese on toast, but has the strength of flavour to work well with spicy foods, where the softness could match the heat of a chicken Jalfrezi.

Swartland Winery was established in 1948. Supplied by some 200 members, they are now one of South Africa's largest wine producers. Their fantastic value is the result of the intense flavours obtained from dry farmed, low yielding old bush vines
Andries Blake
The Swartland region, some 50 miles north and east of Capetown, has a hot dry climate in which unirrigated bush vines thrive alongside neighbouring wheatfields.

Good value - very straightforward and drinkable. Will have again as a sensibly priced bottle.

Big berry flavours combined with a subtle spice makes this an ideal wine for hearty casaroles and game foods. Great quaffing with fresh bread and a good mature chedder though be careful it is heady. Delicious

A light red wine from South Africa with soft spicy fruit flavours. Ideal with any meat poultry and cheeses. We had one with a dry chili chicken...you don't want expensive wines when eating highly spiced food! Very quaffable.... a bottle certainly doesn't last long in our house!

This wine is ideal for everyday drinking, where a fine wine is not required. It goes especially well with cheese and strong flavoured meats.
