Background
History
Cantine Maschio was established in 1904 as a distillery by Antonio Maschio in the village of Conegliano, near Treviso. The particular devotion of this area to Prosecco grape variety pushed Antonio's grandchild Bonaventura to found in 1973 the winery Casa Maschio and to focus the production on Prosecco Spumante DOC. Thanks to a steady increase in the sales and to new investments, the company gained a widespread success during 1980s. Casa Maschio was taken over by Seagram Group in 1986 and then by Cantine R

Regional info
The production zone is the hillside of the Province of Treviso stretching from the Dolomites to the Adriatic sea whose positive effect influences its climate and countryside. In this area we have approximately 18,000 hectares (45,000 acres) of cultivated land even if vines grow on the hills' south-facing slopes only at an altitude of 50 - 500 metres (approx. 165 - 1650 ft.) above sea level.

What a joy to drink. Young, lively and full of flavour. A superb choice for a cheeky aperatif, or with a nice pasta dish, chicken or fish too. Nice on its own in an evening, just chilling out. Superb taste, great value.

We bought 6 bottles of this Prosecco because it was a terrific price given the Premium status of Prosecco in general in recent years. This one is light, and flavoursome with a quality, not "biscuity" like champagne but, which engenders the desire to celebrate whether you have a reason to or not. We chose it to celebrate the news that we were going to be Grandparents for the first time in the New Year!

A very appealing sparkling wine full of fruit flavours. Delicious drunk on it's own for a girlie night in or with a lunch or light snack. Reminds me of a recent holiday to Sorrento when I came across this brand of Prosecco in many of the local bars!! A firm favourite of mine when it comes to sparkling wine & would certainly recommend it.

I drink a lot of Champagne and Prosecco. But, I'm sober as I write this review. The Cantine Maschio is one of the best Proseccos - the price has fluctuated recently between £6 and over £9.If I find the price acceptable this is the one I go for.Classic clean,fresh, bubbly and Prosecco-light taste for when I fancy a lighter-tasting Champagne alternative.

Very refreshing and dry. A great taste and great for social occasions. All my friends love it and I find they prefer it to sauvignon blanc. At these prices I can afford it more and more
