The Wine Gang - winegang.com 01/05/2014
Of the 2012 vintage, The Wine Gang said: this is super-extracted Cabernet with a strong engine oil aroma and is so thick and chocolatey it almost sticks to your palate more than glides over it. Thank goodness for its 10% Merlot, imagine how dense it would be without it... We wouldn't class this as a refined Cabernet Sauvignon, but it delivers on hulking great fruit and is a surefire winner for the barbecue season ahead of us
Matthew Jukes - Weekend, Daily Mail 17/05/2014
Of the 2012 vintage, Matthew Jukes said: “I’m amazed that a wine of this calibre from an illustrious estate such as this is so competitively priced. It’s stuffed with classy plum and blackberry fruit, and the lack of oak treatment is a real bonus.”

Jane MacQuitty - Weekend, The Times 06/09/2014
Of the 2013 vintage, Jane MacQuitty said: "Of the many thick-with-fruit Aurelio Montes reds, this 14 per cent cabernet, crammed with bold, black cherry and red fruit flavours, is brilliant value."
Montes was established in 1988 by Aurelio Montes, Douglas Murray, Alfredo Vidaurre and Pedro Grand, with the aim to produce the best wines in Chile from the best regions. Their wines are consistently good because they are meticulous throughout the entire production process. Montes own 800 hectares of vineyards in Aplata and Marchigue located in Colchaugua Valley as well a single vineyard Zapallar, located in coastal Aconcagua Valley.
Aurelio Montes Baseden
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes come from the Colchagua Valley renowned for making excellent red wines. In Colchagua, the moderating breezes from the ocean slows ripening allowing the wines to achieve perfect ripeness. Cool nights help retain acidity giving freshness to the wines.
