A crisp and dry wine with aromas and flavours of herbs and tropical fruit with hints of lime and fig with a zesty finish.

This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 2 years
Matthew Jukes - Weekend (Daily Mail) 07/04/2012Of the 2011 vintage, Matthew Jukes said: “This squeaky fresh, pea and grapefruit-scented sauvignon blanc is absolutely gripping. Drink it with fresh fish, sushi or mildly spiced Asian-influenced dishes. It can slice through chilli or ginger with rapier sharp accuracy.”
Boschendal has a heritage dating back to 1685, when its French founders recognised the property's potential for wine-growing. Today, Boschendal maintains a rightful place as a winery of international distinction, consistently producing great wines.

The Coastal Region of the Cape is an ideal location for producing high quality wines. Breezes off the cool Atlantic Ocean temper the hot summer days to produce fruit ripeness and great wine flavours.

I was expecting a better wine from Boschendal. A light refreshing wine, flavours are subtle. Dry. Would be lovely well chilled on a hot summers day! I found it quite acidic which limits the amount I can tolerate. ( 2 glasses).

This wine is always consistently good. It is the only wine my mother can drink without any ill effect. This always reminds us of our time spent in South Africa visiting relatives sitting in beautiful hotels and looking at blue cloudless sky's while drinking wine.

A crisp and dry South Arfican wine to enjoy with fish, spicy dishes or on it's own. We have been drinking this wine for years and found it to be very appetizing on the palette. Never disappointed and at a reasonable price as well.

This is a first rate wine for the money. I like all Boschendal wines and in fact have visited the vineyard on a number of occasions, although Tesco only provides the basic wine. Reserve wines are the best but you have to obtain these somewhere else. Also I write this review from memory since when my Tesco order arrived this wine was missing !!

I was hoping for and expecting a cleaner, crisper southern hemisphere sauvignon taste to this wine but, to my taste it had hints of a more rounded chardonay/vionier taste and was a bit "flat". Not as fruity or zesty as I had hoped.

This is a really solid and dependable RSA wine, good either as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to fish or poultry. I have never been disappointed whether drinking in RSA or in the UK.

Boschendal certainly know how to make good wine, and it is nice to know it can be snapped up at Tesco at an affordable price. Their Sauvignon Blanc is crisp, dry, very pleasing on the palette without too much acidity, and lovely as an aperitif or with many types of food. Visiting Boschendal near Capetown is also a lovely experience.
