A deep ruby red colour is followed by an intense nose combining sensuous plum and berry aromas with mocha hints.

This wine should be consumed within one year of purchase.
Since 2007, this wine has been produced for Tesco by Cono Sur, one of Chile's most innovative and multi awarding winning producers and it reflects the talents of its head winemaker Adolfo Hurtado.
Adolfo Hurtado
The wine benefits from the ideal growing conditions to be found in the Central Valley, Chile. Foggy mornings and Pacific ocean breezes give the grapes extra time to ripen and realise their full potential.

I have had this wine before and found it quite good value, however I bought a couple of cases online, I tried a glass and found this to be very gassy like an unfinished wine and not at all as described by other reviewers, could be overdosed with sulphites producing sulphur dioxide gas. I gave the bottle a good shake which caused it to pressurise. Must have part of a bad batch !!

would not have bought this wine but for the positive reviews - was not disappointed! Lovely plummy smooth taste that you would expect from a much more expensive chilean red

Reasonably smooth drinkable wine. Good taste and body. Good value for a 'cheaper' wine

Typically Merlot with a pleasant smooth taste. For a bargain price wine this takes a lot of beating

We would normally buy wines which were allegedly £9/£11 full price with 50% off. This time we decided to try this wine at £4 a bottle. It is really nice. Smooth, full/medium bodied with a full fruity flavour. Highly recommended.

We have been ordering Tesco's Chilean Merlot for many years and have yet to be disappointed. The fact that it is among the cheaper wines should not fool anyone. Chile has the climate to create this soft, fruity, delicious wine and we shall continue to buy it.

This chilean wine is very good value for money is one of the smoothest merlot wines i have tasted for the price. Excellent with lamb or beef dishes or even goes well with Indian dishes.

Good fruity aroma and taste with a great deep colour. Would rate it a class above both the Oxford Landing and Jacobs Creek offerrings. Excellent value for money

Not the great deal it used to be at £2.99 a few years ago but still one of the best reds under £4. Some suppliers have trouble retailing something that's not actually unpleasant at this price, even Chilean Merlot. But this is consistently competitive with £5-£8 wines.

I really liked this, but mocha? Well I certainly did not taste that but then I am not an expert in any way I just like wine. Having now disagreed with the experts completely I am going on to do more of that. The nose? It's a little smelly and not very pleasantly, smelling of (well as far as I could tell) raspberries mixed with body odour. That aside, if you wish to drink it rather than smell it; a bargain at the price as the wine is good. Fruity with lots of spicy aftertastes. Sorry i do not know my spices well enough to tell you which spices. But a very good wine.

Good full bodied - what you would expect from a chilean merlot at that price. Great value.
