Andrew Neather - Evening Standard 11/10/2012Of the 2011 vintage, Andrew Neather said: "This is hardly the most sophisticated Loire Chenin Blanc, but it's bright, open and juicy. And it's rare enough to find anything drinkable under £5 these days, especially from the Loire, where growers are finding it harder than ever to make a living at the ex-cellar prices demanded for this sort of UK price point."
Andrew Neather - Evening Standard 31/05/2012Of the 2011 vintage, Andrew Neather said: "About as good a white as you'll find under a fiver: crisp, bright, juicy chenin blanc fruit from the Loire."
Anjou Blanc is produced in our own winemaking centre and is vinified at low temperature and aged on fine lees. Thanks to this technique, we extract a maximum of aromas and we keep the freshness and crispness of the wine.

One of the specific features of Lacheteau lies in the important share of business devoted to marketing estate-bottled wines (5 to 6 million bottles per year). This policy is based on long-term work on two key points: - Monitoring the estates and the quality of the wines, - The conditions for bottling on the property, which must be safe and in line with the wines’ organoleptic qualities.

Stumbled across this wine around two months ago, since then have always reordered. Its very refreshing and fruity when served well chilled and goes well with a number of foods or just on its own. For the price i dont think you will find much better, and yes of course you have to take the price into account. Dont try to get snobbish over a fiver !

sweetish wine but very useful for adding to make really sour versions of sauvignon blanc drinkable!

My all time favourite wine. Not too sweet or too dry. Best served chilled with condensation on the glass !
