Background

History

Brancott Vineyard is our original Marlborough Vineyard and inspiration behind our name. With its special combination of soil, sun and climate, this is where we first pioneered our country’s most internationally-acclaimed varietal - Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Regional info

The season began with a very cool October and an average November/December. The cool weather reduced the potential yield of the vines and gave a highly-desired natural crop reduction. As the season progressed, the summer and harvest period was remarkably dry. The settled, dry weather allowed for blocks to be picked in optimal condition throughout the harvest period and some fabulous fruit was received into the winery

classic old fashioned pinot taste - not exceptional but enjoyable and rounded easy drinking. Quality/taste did vary slightly from bottle to bottle - some nectar, some slightly dry, but all had fruity taste with medium body and good depth of flavour - very smooth Would buy again - probably if on offer as higher end for rating.

This review is for the 2009 vintage

Pinot Noir is believed to be the healthiest red because of possible protection from polyphenols and resveratrol benefiting the lining of the blood vessels and reducing the "bad" cholesterol more than other reds.It is however not a medicine but its nice to know every enjoyable glass might help the circulation. This Pinot is simply gorgeous.Smooth like velvet, smokey and dry its perfect with meat but also salmon.Enjoyed it with liver and bacon.too.Perfectly good with cheese its a red you can easily enjoy through the meal. One of the best Pinots available.
