Of the 2010 vintage, Victoria Moore said: "Touriga Nacional is a grape that's not easy to manage but it is highly-valued in the Douro, where leading estates have been planting more and more of it to use in Port. Tesco's version is smoothed-out enough to make it an easy drink without losing all of the grapes dark ferocity. Try this with a salad studded with nuggets of fried black pudding and croutons."

History

Founded in 1998 in a 19th century building - "The Ribatejo Wine Cathedral", DFJ Vinhos is one of Portugal's most renowned producers , who's head wine maker Jose Neiva Correia has been a winemaker, producer and consultant for over 30 years.

The wine itself is made from grapes grown in the Estremadura region located on the Atlantic coast where the local climate, terroir and numerous grape varieties influence the different wines produced.
