This sparkling rose is fine for summer barbecues and just sipping at home. Its light and fruity, fizzy and although it lacks the smooth full flavour of more expensive rose's, it does have taste and appeal. The price reflects this!

I have been buying this wine for some years, nice wine good value I thought. However I have noticed the price has altered quite a bit. In January a bottle cost £4.49 so I shopped at a different store. Yesterday I called in Tesco and the price is back at £3.79! pleased it's been lowered and will buy from Tesco again.

husband swears it doesn't taste just like mateus rose but I can't tell the difference, so for a pound cheaper I always pick this lovely number.

This wine is gentle, fruity and not too dry. The slight fizz is refreshing and is still there after two or three days...it doesn't go 'flat'. Its an inexpensive and very acceptable option for everyday drinking with your meal. It accompanies most foods quite well. I have purchased it quite regularly and will do so again if it is avaliable.

Easy drinking, very similar to Mateus Rose, and for the price a good alternative, recommended.

This cheap Portugese wine has a slight sparkle and a great taste, not weak but very nice. An easy to drink wine, which we have purchased several times before.

This Portuguese rosé is quite delightful. It appeals to non wine buffs because of its unpretentious, ligh slightly sparkling taste. A wine to drink either on its own or as an accompaniment to fish, chicken or desserts. Mix it with a measure of Cremé de Cassis for a most delicious Kir - ideal for a pre-dinner aperitif.

I buy this wine all year round not just as a summer treat. For the price this is an excellent drink as an aperitif.

Similar to Mateus, but a tad more dry. Very inoffensive dinner wine or with cheese and crackers in the afternoon. Light, fresh and inexpensive equals " can't be that bad" in my books.

The Tesco "Simply...." range never lets you down. This rose wine is excellently priced and ideal for drinking every day in warm summer months. Not as good as mateus rose and it does not have as much sparkle as Mateus but quite similar. It has a definite strawberry hint about it. Ideal if served chilled.

Pat drinks Rose and this sparkling wine satisfied her taste buds with the strawberry fruits and light sparkling. It was not my'cuppa tea'.I prefer brut white sparklers.
