Regional info
Sicily is suited to wine making because of the balance between the climate and the soils. Although it is one of the warmest wine producing regions in Europe, the influence of topography and the cooling breezes from the Mediterranean Sea enable wine-makers to make elegant and fresh wines with the juicy ripeness that the island is well known for.

As the 'cheapest' Merlot in the list, I was not expecting a lot but in fact it turned out to be a very quaffable product to accompany red meat dishes.

This review is for the 2011 vintage
Bought this wine on the strength of some reviews on this page and because it was half price- and it did not disappoint. Quite light for a Merlot and perhaps lacks the full body of some, but nevertheless a good little wine for all that. Very easy drinking, full of fruit flavours with a hint of spiciness which seems to go well with any meal. An excellent wine for the special price; I recommend it to others and I would buy it again.

Lovely, smooth, rounded Merlot. Not hefty, but deep red flavours. Would have been good value at full price - excellent on the Tesco deal.
