A complex wine with aromas of red cherries and savoury herbs.

Great concentration and depth of flavour, with spicy vanilla and ripe red fruit on the palate.

Velvety and smooth, this wine has a long length.

Perfectly suited to red meats or cheese, for example.

Expert Opinion

In the press...

Of the 2006 vintage, Hamish Anderson said: "Roda is my favourite of the modern-style Rioja producers who place greater emphasis on the quality of the grapes than oak ageing. In a long line of brilliant reservas, this is up there with the best as it allies sumptuous fruit and rich, classy oak with freshening, spicy aromatics. Decant and serve with a roast or some high-quality cheddar."

Hamish Anderson - Daily Telegraph Magazine 26/05/2012

Background

History

Bodegas Roda was developed during the late 1980s by Mario Rotllant and Carmen Daurella who have pursued excellence at every level. The Estate comprises an immaculate 28 blocks of old Tempranillo and Garnacha vines located in the best areas of La Rioja Alta. The Roda team have done extensive research in order to identify the best Tempranillo clones according to the quality they deliver in specific vineyard plots. An incredible respect for each vintage and subsequent desire to express it truly results in concentrated, highly elegant wines to accompany food.
