Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
Good depth of ruby colour, the Terre di Priori Brunello is intense and powerfully scented, with aromas of dark, ripe berries and a smoky spicy character.
On the palate it is full bodied and structured, with great depth with chunky, well-upholstered tannins and a good long finish.
This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 5 years
Anthony Rose - The Independent Magazine 04/02/2012
Of the 2006 vintage, Anthony Rose said: “There are complex secondary characters to the sweet-and-sour cherryish Sangiovese fruit, while smooth tannins make this a satisfying red at a relatively reasonable price for Brunello.”
The Terre di Priori wine is produced at Cantine Leonardo. Winemaker Riccardo Pucci has worked hard with Leonardo’s viticulturists to develop a style of Chianti that builds on the freshness and vibrancy characterising the Terre di Priori. This has resulted in deeper coloured and richer wines, thanks in part to the oak used in the maturation process, which stand out against their peers.
The grapes are sourced from the small hillside in the commune of Montalcino, near Siena, where the soil has been formed by centuries of accumulated sild and clay sandstone. Splintered shale, commonly known as marn, is the primary soil component. The deep and permeable soil is good at retaining water.
