Flavours on the palate of blackberry and blackcurrant with hints of spice are soft and elegant with a balanced acidity and medium body.
The finish is long and smooth with round tannins.

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 2 years
Rob Buckhaven - Fabulous Magazine (The Sun) 05/08/2012Of the 2011 vintage, Rob Buckhaven said: "Artesano de Argento Malbec is a cherry feast."
Artesano de Argento is the new handcrafted range from The Argento Wine Company, established in Mendoza in 1998, and is made by Winemaker Sebastián San Martín. Artesano de Argento embodies our winemaking philosophy – we carefully select only the best grapes from a variety of altitudes, terroirs and microclimates to produce more interesting wines with greater complexity and balance. Fruit purity, vibrancy and elegance are the hallmarks of our style.
Sebastián San Martín
The Mendoza Province is one of Argentina's most important wine regions, accounting for nearly two-thirds of the country's entire wine production. Located in the eastern foothills of the Andes, in the shadow of Mount Aconcagua, vineyards are planted at the some of the highest altitudes in the world with the average site located 1,970–3,610 feet (600–1,100 meters) above sea level.

Really can't fault this Malbec. Always look to see if it is on offer and stock up. First choice when all the family visit.

I first discovered this wine when it was part of a mixed case. It became an instant favourite. When the mixed case was no longer available, I continued to buy cases of Artesano on it's own. It is full bodied and very fruity. I would recommend it for steak dinners and hearty casseroles, but it is too good to cook with!

The 2011 is not as complete as some of its predecessors, but is still a vert good everyday drinking Malbec for the cost through the Tesco.

This Malbec didn't come up to expectation. Maybe it was too young.

This is hearty stuff with lots of possibilities, so I took it to a friends' place and cooked them a reasonably hot and spicy curry and it carried off the accompaniment with no problem. So much for those who only think it can be cold lager with Asian food! In fact it was lot more than that. It’s a very tasty all-round bottle that goes well with any substantial red meat dish or a smelly cheese-board for after-pud’. Plenty of fruit and holds up the end for these Argentinian Malbecs much in the same way as Chilean Carmenere is so highly regarded. It’s hard to see how it would disappoint anyone and at the reduced price is definitely worth 4*.

This wine is everything you could wish for in terms of fruit, body and general pleasure! Well worth stashing some away - certainly one of my all time favourites.

I bought this wine after tasting it in one of my favourite restaurants and was please to find it on Tesco website! It's not too heavy, great with red meat or even just for a couple of glasses on its own. The whole family love it and will definitely be buying again.
