Background
History
The House of Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot who in 1798 selected the anchor emblem as the signature cork brand, the Christian symbol for hope and rigour. The running of the house was later taken over by Madame Clicquot in 1805 who continued to use the anchor emblem.

Produced in the Champagne region located in Northeast France. The vines are mostly planted on the hillside where the soil is the shallowest and exposure to the sun is at its maximum.
