Deliciously fruity and refined, this award-winning vintage sparkler is light, refreshing and fantastic as an aperitif – the perfect celebration fizz.

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 2 years
This medal winning vintage Cava is produced at the Marques de Monistrol winery in the Penedes region of Spain just outside Barcelona. It is high quality, superbly refreshing, great for entertaining and excellent value for money.
Marqués de Monistrol is one of the leading Cava producers having established cava making at the property in San Sadurni d’Anoia in 1882, in the heart of Penedès, 40km southwest from Barcelona. Since then quality has been the byword in the production of some of the best sparkling wines from Spain. Since 1882 our cavas are produced following the traditional method (same production method as champagne). Every year our cavas win international awards for their outstanding quality.

Very good Cava, helps set the mood for so many occasions. Goes well with fish, seafood and party nibbles.

This review is for the 2009 vintage
This 2009 vintage is the worst cava I have ever had (and I have had hundreds of bottles (not all this year though). The top is almost impossible to remove with your hands and even the champagne bottle opener faileded and I had to use a rubber dish washing glove. There was no 'pop' as the cork crawled out of the bottle and by the time you finished pouring the wine the bubbles (the few there were anyway) had all gone. To top off the performance our 12 bottles were duds, flat, insiped and truely terrible.

Vintage Cava, lets be honest, isnt meant to mirror a fine vintage champagne. However, pour this, nicely chilled into a champagne flute, with the addition of a measure of cointreau, and HEY PRESTO! Yes its nice on its own, not overly sharp, so buy it when its on offer, you cant go wrong! Perfect for birthdays, Christmas, Bonfire Night, Easter, or Saturday nights in... That way, buying this on offer, allows you to save for a nice Dom Perignon for when the need arises....
