Torrontés is unique to Argentina, and this lovely wine is a great example- Soft, round and elegant with a delicate mix of stone and tropical fruit flavours, it is the perfect match for fish or white meat.
This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 1 year
This beautiful South American country is not only home to polo, the tango and sublime steaks, it also makes seriously good wine. Wine expert Nick Juby says, “Argentina produces a lot of wine – more than New Zealand and Australia combined. Much of the best stays in the country so we’re delighted to be able to bring you these two terrific wines.”
Since 1884, Don Miguel Gascón has been synonymous with the fine wines from Argentina’s Mendoza region. The winery is the oldest working winery in Mendoza and a historic landmark in the history of Argentine winemaking, yet it houses some of the most advanced winemaking technology in the world. Escorihuela Gascón believe that Polo is the sport that best represent Argentina’s uniqueness, passion and spirit. Chukker is the word used for each of the 8 periods of the game.
Gustavo Marin
The wines of Don Miguel Gascón are crafted in the city of Mendoza. Many of the region's vineyards are situated in the foothills of the Andes and here you can find some of the highest vineyards in the world. The combination of sun and altitude gives exceptional conditions for growing grapes. Escorihuela have worked with the same grower's for over 15 years and this commitment and support is showcased in the consistent quality of their wines.

This wine stands out as having a good nose and plenty of body. Don't be put off by the tacky label - it has real class.

This delicious Argentinian grape is difficult to find but when you do grab a case. I goes perfectly with spicey dishes like curries as well as being very drinkable on its own. It has a slightly effervescent quality. I love it.

I am sure this wine will be enjoyed many but it did not suit my taste so I have wrapped the remaining 5 bottles as Christmas Gifts ! I found it too heavy but I did try without food so may be better with Dinner. Just not for me.
