Jamie Goode - S Magazine (Sunday Express) 15/01/2012Lively, fruity and grassy, this is a superb example of the popular sauvignon blanc grape variety. With its pure, rounded fruit and exotic aromas, it would be a good match for the pasta salad.
Ormonde estate have the western cape's largest plantings of quality sauvignon blanc with around 120 hectares of vines. Production now takes place at the state of the art winery, completed just in time for the 2007 harvest.

not had this wine before but found it to be a pleasant easy drinking wine.

If you find Kiwi sauvignon is too fruity, and Chilean sauvignon too dry and sharp, this wine is the perfect balance of crisp refreshing flavours. Great with fish or just on it's own, will definitely be buying some more

This review is for the 2011 vintage
I have bought this wine on several occasions as it's a good, all round, anytime drinking wine. Not too expensive and not too cheap. When the wine is good it's very very good. A fresh smooth Sauvignon Blanc, not as flavourful or crisp as a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, but usually pretty good for the price. I say usually because now and again the odd bottle is a little bit on the 'Sharp'' side. That aside 90% of the time it's as good as ever and I'd recommend it if you like a Sauvignon Blanc.
