Concentrated aromas of red and blackberry fruits, rich, rustic and spicy, yet elegant and with a long lingering flavour

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 5 years
Jancis Robinson - FT Magazine 08/12/2012Of the 2007 vintage, Jancis Robinson said: “Quite a treat to find this pure, luscious northern Rhone Syrah you could already drink in so many branches of the supermarket. The Tain co-op has access to a large proportion of the firm Syrah grown on this famous hill in the northern Rhone. Dry finish but great fruit on the way there.”
The Wine Gang - thewinegang.com 01/01/2013The Cave de Tain does a good job of extracting the spice and pepper of the Syrah grape in most of its wines and this Hermitage is no exception, a fine red with a distinctive pepper and spice perfume and attractively juicy fresh fruit spliced with cracked pepper on the palate, albeit the faintest touch rustic for the great cru of Hermitage itself.
Founded in 1933, Cave de Tain are one of the most respected and well-run co-operatives in the Rhône . Their objective is to produce authentic wines which bear the full character of their individual vineyard sites.
Alain Bourgeois
Situated in the north of the Rhone Valley, by the town of Tain L'Hermtage the vineyards of Hermitage are sited on steep, sunny, south-facing slopes and protected from the northern winds.

This is a great vintage, but may need a little more aging - maybe 3 years - before it peaks. Still fantastic and worth every penny - compares very favourably with many wines 10 times the price.

The first Hemitage I have bought. A clean palate with oodles of fine fruit and mellow aftertaste. Subtle complex structure and pleasing throughout the drinking experience.

AMAZING, BEAUTIFULLY MATURE WINE! This is a rare-ish opportunity to buy a GREAT wine that is just reaching its drinking plateau. It's so good it almost melts in the mouth like a great steak. All the fresh primary fruits are diminshing and lovely mature secondary autumninal notes are coming to the fore. I tasted this at the Tesco Wine Fair in Manchester and bought 6!! Took a bottle to a restauranteur friend to taste and he bought 6 too. Also tasted with my Financial Advisor & my best friend and they both want 6 each too! I appreciate this maybe out of some budgets, however it's nearly Christmas, so if you can treat yourself as it really is value for money against fine wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Italy & Oz.
