Characteristic by its intense ruby colour with earthy shades of red, this elegant wine is light and balanced with just a hint of spiciness.

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 2 years
GVV has grown out of several cooperatives from the Cariñena region wanting to find a common way to promote their wines to a wider audience. With over 5000 hectares of vineyard and 12,000 barrels they now send their wine to lovers all over the world.
Marcelo Morales Calderon
Cariñena, in northern Spain, is an area of low rainfall & hot sunny days that bake the soil dry, forcing the vine roots to give rich and concentrated wines. It is the region's largest and oldest do.

A highly disappointing Rioja for the price and description - a thin watery flavourless red wine with few traces of it being from the Tempranillo grape and little resemblance to a Rioja TESCO customer service did replace it well done to TESCO

We enjoy this wine and drink it frequently. Good flavours and great with most foods.

Reasonably smooth enough but lacking in taste and body. Would only buy this wine when its on offer

I have bought several, usually budget wines from Tesco, and have never been disappointed. I would not profess to be any sort of "buff", but I have always been satisfied with the product.

Nice wine for the price. Not sure why they bother covering the bottle in gold string though, think we know it's not a 1988 £80 vintage. Nice for after dinner drinking though.

Not one of my favourites, quite a light bodied wine. The price is usually at the lower end and this is reflected by the quality of the wine.

One of the few wines I've tasted recently that are still worth the money in this era of unnecessarily super-inflated wine prices. I've saved a couple of bottles for Christmas lunch.

I have bought this whilst it has been on offer many times. This is great little number. Typically Tempranillo grape flavours, a little bite to it with its spiciness. You must get this wine at room temperature to enjoy it at ts best. I think it is fantastic value for money and is just like some of the Rioja's we drink when we are at our little house in Spain. Go for it!

A good all round Rioja. It will only surprise you by how well it goes down. Smooth, very tasty and excellent value. Just nice to drink for its own sake. I always have a case or two on my shelf, although only for a short time

I am quite a lover of Spanish wine. I had a house in Spain for a number of years and aquired quite a taste for many Spanish wines. I have bought bottles of this wine before and have found that it is consistenly good. The Reserva version is slightly better but not that much. It is a typical northern Spanish wine without quite the same depth as most Rioja wines which come from nearby. Overall a quite tasty wine folr drinking with lighter meats like lamb. Excellent value for the price. I would recommend it and will buy it again.

Although a little harsh on the palate, this wine was well flavoured and good value.

I consider this to be a semi full bodied red wine simply because it does not have the 100% weight of a rich claret. My terminology is definitely not wine lingo, but I do not know how else to describe this very pallatable table wine. I like to drink this with pastas or rice dishes, as it seems to compliment the flavours well. A slight tang in the roof of my mouth, but after a few sips, I did not notice this any further. A great red wine at a greater price.

Super posh bottle with gold wire net on it but the contents disappoint. It is drinkable but seems flat with no after taste and slightly stale feeling.

If your'e tired of tilting at windmills take a break and settle down with a bottle of this lovely wine, on the cheap side but very good value, very nice with a mature cheddar in front of the T.V(better with the T.V OFF)

Marqus de Caran Gran Seleccin 75cl Characteristic by its intense ruby colour with earthy shades of red, this elegant wine is light and balanced with just a hint of spiciness. We have to say that we agree most definitely with Tesco's wording above about this wine ... We rate it most highly.
