Golden in colour, this fragrant wine has that unmistakable scent of petrol and lime so typical of riesling; In spite of its 6 years of age, it's still bursting with crisp citrus flavours but there's a creamier honey note now also starting to emerge; A complex wine with a lingering mineral finish, it would be perfect with Thai dishes or smoked fish

Henschke have been making wine in Australia since 1862 when Johann Christian Henschke planted a small vineyard at Keyneton in the Eden Valley. Nowadays, they are one of the greatest names in Australian winemaking and their wines (including the legendary Hill of Grace) are justly famous around the world. Still family owned, fifth-generation winemaker Stephen Henschke works with his wife Prue as viticulturist. In 2005, Stephen was inducted into the prestigious Wine and Spirit Magazine "Hall of Fame".

The single most important factor in shaping the Eden Valley's wine style is altitude: This helps to ensure conditions in the region are much cooler than those of the nearby Barossa Valley. As a result, the growing season is longer, allowing the wines to develop a purity and intensity of flavour. The region also has a wide array of soil types (mainly gravels with patches of clay): this geological complexity lends the wine its characteristic minerality. Eden Valley competes with Clare Valley in producing some of the best of Australia's Rieslings.
