Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
A fabulously fruity red from the Trentino region, in northern Italy.
Here, the Teroldego grape has produced a wine with lots of juicy black cherry and redcurrant fruit, along with a sprinkle of spice at the end.
Begs to be out with a bowl of tomato-sauce drenched pasta.
To enjoy this wine at its best, drink within 2 years of purchase.
Jane MacQuitty - Weekend, The Times 05/07/2014
Of the 2012 vintage, Jane MacQuitty said: "Teroldego’s inky colour, chunky tannins and tangy acidity are arresting, especially examples such as this one, cushioned by plenty of this grape’s spicy, turbo-charged black cherry and raspberry fruit."
Teroldego is probably the oldest quality grape variety cultivated in Trentino. Teroldego producers were the first to establish a consortium in 1948 for the protection of Teroldego Rotaliano and the first in 1970 to obtain Denominazione di Origine Controllata status.
On well-drained terraces in the Adige and Vallagarina valleys, on a gravelly matrix of alluvial origins and at the foot of alluvial cones on limestone, medium-deep soils with plenty of skeleton.
