A rich, nutty aroma with hints of dried fig.
A dry, generous palate with walnut, raisin and dried fruit flavours.
This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 2 years

“…is a perfect example thanks to its bone-dry character enhanced by flashes of dried fruit and a nutty finish.”
Barbadillo is a 100% Spanish family owned business based in Sanlucar de Barrameda since 1821, that effortlessly brings together tradition and modernity. Barbadillo owns 500 hectares of vineyards spread over two estates, Gibalbín and Santa Lucía, both of which are located in the area known as Jerez Superior, or Upper Jerez. The former has an extensive winemaking plant fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology and Barbadillo’s numerous wine cellars are strategically distributed over the outstanding area of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, surrounding the medieval castle of Santiago.
Jerez Superior are the celebrated lands of albariza, a porous, chalky soil characterised by its pale colour that is particularly well suited to the cultivation of vines grown for the production of quality wines. The climate is mild with more than 3,000 hours of sun softened by the cooling influence of the Atlantic. These factors, together with a long winemaking tradition, allow for excellent ripening of the Palomino grapes and ensure a high degree of beaumé (level of sweetness) and moderate acidity.

Dry and full of flavour. A very unusual and versatile sherry. Most enjoyable and excellent value.

I bought this sherry as it had one great 5* review, but am very disappointed with this Sherry. It tastes like dry cooking sherry with tesco finest label. Will not be buying again.

Cheese, pate, smoked meats, olives, salted nuts etc. plus this rich sherry and you are in for a real treat. This is a match for any strongly flavoured food and indeed a lovely compliment. This is a first rate sherry from an excellent bodega and is an absolute bargain. Don't give it to your Gran as it will be too dry, but there is a rich cream in this finest range that will probably keep her merry this xmas!
