A vigorous and lively Champagne, ideal as an aperitif.
With a dominance of Pinot Noir giving its appealing fruit character, Blue Top is an easy-drinking style of Champagne, and is a perfect accompaniment to seafood and white meats.
This wine can be enjoyed now or carefully stored for up to 3 years from purchase
Established in 1785 – one of the oldest Champagne producers. Purchased in 1996 by Vranken Pommery Monopole who also own the Houses of Pommery, Demoiselle and Charles Lafitte, a ‘Grande Marque’ champagne recognised as one of the region's top names.
Dominique Pichart
Heidsieck & Co Monopole originates from Epernay. The grapes are sourced from the three main vineyard areas of Champagne - the Montagne de Reims, the Vallee de la Marne and the Cotes des Blancs.

My favourite champagne and a winner all the time. This is much better than some of the well known champagnes. A real treat

Ok, I bought plenty at £14.50 a bottle, which of course is great value for a branded product. I would rate it at 4 stars or less if I paid the full wack but at £14.50, its five stars. A bit on the dry dry side, but that what you get for a budgetm priced branded champagne. For £29-£35 buy a bottle from the renowned maker Charles Roederer, yes they also make the footballer and bankers champagne CRYSTAL at £125 a bottle

I bought this when it was on 50% off and it was therefore a bargain. I wouldn't pay the full price for it. Having said this it is very drinkable of champagnes amongst its peers. We drank half and drank the remainder the following day and it retained its mousse surprisingly well. Would definintely buy when it's on offer.

I first received a bottle of this as a Christmas present. Not normally a Champagne person, neither is my Wife, we were quite indifferent to what we were about to taste - big mistake! The wine was wonderful, slightly sweet but with a fresh taste that left not only ourselves but others around the table commenting favourably - the ony negative on the day was I didn't have any more!!! We were so impressed, I immediately researched where I could purchase some more and ordered more cases to provide the toast at my Sons upcomming wedding Tesco provided a great service at an amazing price - Try some for yourself you to will be amazed

My type of champagne! Had tried it previously when my local Bugdens had on offer during the summer. The wine I bought then we drank at my Christmas party (ie. 6months after purchase) it was excellent and highly praised by my guests. I was delighted to see Tesco offering the same wine recently at half price and took the full available offer. It is encouraging to find really good champagne with this discount, sadly most offers of this kind are very disappointing indeed. I am happy to be able to give my guests in future a really nice glass of champagne!!!!

Perfect for receptions or lavish parties, refreshing but not mouth puckering: a champagne that everyone can enjoy on its own in some quantity; also good with food. Amazing value when on offer!

I thought I would like to try this Hiedseck after purchasing Tesco Premier Cru Champagne in store. The on-line prices were much the same. The Hiedseck was slightly drier than the Tesco and this was spot on according to the Tesco dryness scale. The Hiedseck was a pleasant wine and good value for money. However, all my family tasted both champagnes and they were unanimous in declaring the Tesco wine the best and this one would have received 4 stars in my rating.

Always pleased to stock up on this when there's a good offer as I think it's really drinkable and no harsh after taste like some other cheaper fizz. I am also happy to order this in a bar

For the price that Tesco sell this for this is certainly my favourite non vintage champagne. Always drinkable and a joy to share with friends.

Everyone enjoyed this wine at Christmas although, it was a little sweeter than we normally have and not one we would use as an aperitif. Good value for money though. Thankyou

Based on the experience with previous years of Tesco's champagne we were banking on its success. What a shame! Still a case left...Too 'thin'/insignificant!.

Makes a good alternative to own label champers at a party. Seems to go down well and people kept coming back for more, cannot comment on how it goes with a meal as I prefer still wine. but when on offer it is good value, not sure I rate it a £30 champagne

Reasonably priced Champagne, ordered online to use up club card points which were about to go out of date. Pleasantly surprised.

Heidsieck Monopole Blue.....A light fruity and very reasonably priced champagne which is regularly reduced by retailers to half price during Christmas and Easter. I use it as a aperitif to greet friends as it is light and refreshing without significant the after-taste which the more full bodied brands tend to leave. Clearly this champage is not in the league of the likes of Bollinger etc in taste, quality and price. However it is worth considering as a leader when it comes to other lesser known brands which are heavily discounted by retailers at Christmas and Easter. I note that post these promotional periods Monopole reverts to a similar price to Moet & Lanson which appears to be more of a marketing ploy rather than it being a comparible product....Over all for the price, the taste was good and suitably impressed guests over the festive period... I purchased two cases !!! :)

This wine, with the reduction in price came in at under £15. At that price it's too good an offer to miss. It has subtle flavours and good depth.

A case of the Heidsieck & Co Monopole Blue Top was purchased for my husbands 60th Birthday. We had tasted it a few weeks before and found it very nice and easy to drink. With so many events happening in December I thought this was the perfect wine for all the celebrations. Everyone enjoyed it and others noted the name. I will be happy to purchase this again as it was a great success because of its fresh and sparkling taste...it just hit the right spot.

This is a great tasting dry champage which is fruity and very easy to drink. Normally it wouldn't get 4 stars but because I bought this at less than half it's normal price it certainly gets 4 stars for taste and value. Would I buy it again? Yes, but only when its on offer otherwise there are lots of others to choose from. Finally, remember this does go on offer 2 to 3 times a year, that's the time to stock up and enjoy.

I wanted to get a case of champagne for the Christmas and New year period and to give to friends. This champagne was £15 a bottle but looks quite impressive - a well known brand etc. It tasted fine, fresh and quite fruity. Not the best I've tasted but good value for the money.

This champagne is consistantly good quality fresh fruity dry and light - no sharpness or acid overtones. If you buy it at the times of year when the supermarkets have their "champagne wars" it can be very good value .

Have tried quite a few champagnes over the years but this one is the best by far. A sweeter taste than most, its wonderful light taste is highly recommended.

Being quite a Champagne buff, I regularly buy Champagnes as well as wines. Piper Heidsieck, whilst not one of the most expensive, has always been a favourite for any occasion. Its fresh, crispness makes a good start to pre-dinner drinks, a reception or simply a warm sunny day in the garden with friends. I purchased a few cases whilst it was on offer as its always a welcome gift for birthdays etc I highly recommend this as an 'every occasion' secial drink.

I've bought this in the past but believe it should have been aged a little more before being put on sale.
