This particular blend is mostly Merlot, with Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc making up the balance.
And it is indeed all about the balance with this wine; redcurrant fruit flavours sit happily with spice, oak and a hint of leather.
Makes a perfect partner for stronger flavoured, hard cheeses.
This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 3 years
This Merlot-dominated red from the 2006 vintage is a wonderfully balanced wine, with redcurrant flavours integrating effortlessly with spice, oak and a hint of leather. The right bank of the river Garonne is where the Merlot grape is most at home due to its love of clay-based soils. Perfect with hard cheeses.
