Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
Deep ruby red, rich in glycerine, black fruit aromas to the nose combined with spices and balsamic nuances.
On the palate, it is intense, complex, full bodied, with ripe tannins and very well integrated oak.
This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 5 years
C.V.N.E., or to give it its full name, Compañía Vinicola del Norte de España (The Northern Spanish Wine Company) was established on the 24th of March 1879 in Haro, Rioja. Set up by two brothers, Eusebio and Raimundo Real de Asúa, their aim was to capitalise on the flourishing new trade in wine. C.V.N.E. is based in the traditional neighbourhood of the station, in the heart of the Rioja wine region.
his wine is made from grapes selected from our vineyards in Villalba, following a selection on the vineyard first and secondly, after harvest. Fermentation takes place in wooden winemaking vats, after which the wine goes into French oak barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine then remains there for cask ageing for 18 months.
