Crozes Hermitage covers the surrounding vineyards of the town of Hermitage, one of the greatest names of the wine world. Crozes-Hermitage is actually the village on the other side of the hill to Hermitage.

Regional info

The continental climate – hot days, cooler nights – and the effects of the Mistral winds all help create conditions that encourage slow, steady ripening of the grapes. That in turn produces fruit with intense flavours. Syrah (better known as Shiraz in southern hemisphere countries) is the trademark red grape of the region. Often the wines from here have a dash of Marsanne or Roussanne (permitted white grapes) in them, but this one’s 100 per cent Syrah.
