Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
A gold medal winner, from the slightly cooler Rioja Alta region in Spain, this is a beautifully crafted mature wine made soley from the Tempranillo grape by Baron de Ley.
With sweet dark cherry fruit and a seductively soft oaky character, this is marvellously mellow.
Sip fireside, or enjoy with slow roasted red meats.
This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 3 years

The Wine Gang - winegang.com 01/05/2014
Of the 2007 vintage, The Wine Gang said: The classic Rioja ingredients of coconut oak, strawberry and blackberry fruit, tobacco and leathery savouriness are all present and correct in the latest vintage of Tesco's reliable Rioja made by Baron de Ley. It will appeal to the traditionalist, but the tannins are not as dry as some, and there's fruit enough to appeal to a wider audience.
David Williams - Observer Food Monthly 18/05/2014
Of the 2007 vintage, David Williams said: “In Rioja a wine must spend at least two years in oak and three in bottle, before it can qualify as Gran Reserva. The definition is more about style than quality, but Baron de Ley’s Tesco own-label is classically strawberry – mellow, savoury and soft.”
Olly Smith - Event Magazine, Mail on Sunday 30/11/2014
Of the 2007 vintage, Olly Smith said: “A gold medal and great value trophy winner at this year’s International Wine Challenge, this earthy and savoury red is the perfect partner for your Christmas dinner.”
