"A very successful effort for this vintage in the Medoc, this deep ruby/purple-colored Pauillac exhibits class/nobility/breed along with black currant liqueur, licorice, and incense notes.
Sweet, expansive, fleshy, and medium to full-bodied, with good structure, ripe tannin, and a long, 30-35 second finish, it can be drunk now, but will be even better in 2-3 years" Robert Parker, 93 pts
Keep it in dry, cool place. Drink now or keep it in cellar for up to 10 years for further complexity.
"After a slump in the 1950s and 1960s, Pichon-Longeville Baron has rebounded marvelously adn has consistently produced top-flight wines, especially from 1986 onward. Though its present quality level will not allow it to be upgraded to first-growth status, this estate is often referred to as a "super-second", performing above its official pedigree. Considering the difference in pricing with the first growths, Pichon-Longeville Baron represents a good buy among the top Bordeaux classified growths." Robert Parker
