Tasting Notes

Silver medal winning wine.

The literal translation of the name Picpoul is 'lip-stinger' on account of its refreshing nature, and this is certainly refreshing for all the right reasons.

A bright star from Southern France, with wonderful pear and apple fruit.

Heavenly match for seafood, especially shellfish.

Expert Opinion

In the press...

Of the 2014 vintage, Olly Smith said: “My advice for Picpoul de Pinet, is to drink the freshest and most recent possible and serve it chilled on its own, or with shellfish. Tesco finest* is an excellent example.”

Olly Smith - Event Magazine, Mail on Sunday 12/04/2015

Of the 2014 vintage, Helen McGinn said: "“A lemon-loaded gem that even my mother - the fussiest of white wine drinkers - adores. The grape is Picpoul, literally translated as the 'lip-stinger' owing to its freshness. “It's made in the village of Pinet in the Languedoc, southern France, a region offering great-value, high-quality reds and whites thanks to its underrated status. Other good regions that are usually a safe bet for affordable whites include the Loire Valley and southern Italy (especially Sicily). “Food pairing: Salmon fishcakes or veggie tarts.”"

Helen McGinn - Femail, Daily Mail 16/04/2015

“Fresh as a daisy 2014 vintage of this bracing, Mediterranean white with all the salty, lemony, floral finesse of the picpoul grape. Grilled sardines and fish stew loves this.”

Jane MacQuitty - The Times 16/05/2015
