Made from an inspired blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa and Touriga Nacional, this is rich and ripe, with spicy blackcurrant flavours.
Absolutely demands food, especially roasted red meats.

Of the 2012 vintage, David Williams said: “If, post-Christmas, the 20% alcohol of port seems a little excessive, you could go for the similar flavours and sun-filled intensity of the dry red wines made from the same grape varieties in the same region – Portugal’s Douro Valley. These pull off a conjuror’s trick by balancing density, grippy tannin and dark depths with an aromatic lightness of touch. The best tend to be expensive – but Tesco’s own label version packs a lot of juicy black fruit in for the money.”
