Of the 2015 vintage, Jamie Goode said: “Lively, fresh and tasty, this offers bright pear, grape and white-peach fruit. It really shows off its clean fruitiness well and it’s no surprise that Picpoul is touted as a great seafood wine.”
The Pomerols Co-operative winery was founded in 1932 and represents over 400 grape growers from the local village of Pomerols and nearby communes of Meze and Castelnau de Guers. This small and unique grape growing region is situated next to the 18 kilometre stretch of water known as the Bassin de Thau that runs between the ancient ports of Agde and Sete on the Mediterranean coast below Montpellier.

This area is an important source of top quality local shellfish specialising mainly in native Oysters. Traditionally, clean, dry and un-oaked white wines were the default choice for the local Fruits de Mer platters so wines such as Muscadet, Chablis and now increasingly Picpoul de Pinet are the go to styles in the beach shacks along the French coast.
