Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
This silver medal winner is a wine with crisp, fresh fruit from Gavi, a region in Piedmonte, northern Italy.
Made from the Cortese grape, it is distinctly lemony, with a tangy nectarine flavour too.
Utterly delicious, this makes a great aperitif or partner to simply grilled fish.

Matthew Jukes - Weekend, Daily Mail 07/06/2014
Of the 2013 cintage, Matthew Jukes said: "I am a huge fan of Tesco's own label Gavi. It is one of the best value, all purpose white wines in the UK and a one-wine master class in the attributes of the beguiling cortese grape variety. Thrilling and downright delicious."
Jane Parkinson - BBC Saturday Kitchen 14/06/2014
Of the 2013 vintage, Jane Parkinson said: “I have chosen the finest Gavi, which has just as much panache as all French wines do, but with the added attitude of Italy. Gavi comes from Piedmont, that northern Italian region that was once ruled by France, and with that historical link, you can really see the sophistication in a lot of the regions wines. Of course Gavi is also a really popular wine style on restaurant wine lists, partly because it’s easy to say, but more importantly because it’s a really versatile wine style. It’s lovely and fresh, like cutting wedges of apple and lemons. But it’s lovely and mellow as well, it just glides along, with a citrus tang which punches through.”
Fratelli Martini was founded in 1947 in the Langhe area. In the 70’s the company underwent substantial technological and production development, always focusing and developing indigenous Italian grape varieties. Today 85% of production is exported.
The Gavi zone comprises 11 communes totalling 1000 hectares. Made from the best Cortese grapes grown on prime hillside vineyards. Part of the crop is late-harvested; lending extra richness to the wine.
