There's roses too, along with delicious spicy flavours.
Goes fantastically well with Thai fish curries.
Best consumed young and fresh, this wine can be enjoyed now or carefully stored for up to 1 year from date of purchase
Hamish Anderson - Daily Telegraph Magazine 03/08/2013
Of the 2012 vintage, Hamish Anderson said: "Gewurz (as it is often shortened to) is the most distinctive of grapes; its heady aromas are instantly recognisable. From one of its major areas of production, Alsace, this is a fine introduction to its pungent charms. Intense without being overbearing, this floral, lychee-laden glass makes a lovely summer aperitif."
David Williams - Observer Food Monthly 22/09/2013
Of the 2012 vintage, David Williams said: "Gewurztraminer's sheer force of unbridled musky perfume is at its best with a little sugar; really dry styles miss out on its divisive flamboyance. This one has 14 grammes per litre and is exotic like really good turkish delight."
Susy Atkins - Stella, Sunday Telegraph 06/10/2013
Of the 2012 vintage, Susy Atkins said: Classic gewurztraminer, delivering a scent of Turkish Delight, with juicy melons and peaches on the palate and an off-dry finish. One for an onion tart or quiche."
Cave de Turckheim is situated in the pretty village of Turckheim, just slightly north west of Colmar. Firmly established as one of the best co-operatives in the world Cave de Turckheim always pays the utmost respect for the wine, combining rigour, know-how and patience with the latest technology and a steady stream of investment. Michel Lihrmann has been their senior winemaker for over 25 years and strongly believes that varietals in Alsace should express their delicate characteristics and favours the dryer style of Alsace wines.
The villages of Alsace lie in a narrow band at the foot of the Vosges Mountains. Low rainfall & long dry autumns allow Alsace to produce aromatic wines from similar grapes used in German wine.
