Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
This is a really lovely - and slightly unusual - blend of the Gros Manseng and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, selected from vineyards in Gascogny, France.
It works brilliantly, with gorgeous lemon and grapefruit flavours; fantastically fresh too.
Lovely pre-food drink or match with simple tomato salads or chicken dishes.
This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 1 year
Victoria Moore - Telegraph Weekend 16/03/2013
Of the 2012 vintage, Victoria Moore said: “Unusual white blend of gros manseng and sauvignon blanc. Talk about zippy. Sooooo fresh. Glossy surface, reminiscent of the inside of sunflower seeds, with thrilling edges like tinned grapefruit and something more lemon-light and zesty underneath. Came out of the fridge 10th and was the first to make me smile.”
Olly Smith - Event Magazine, Mail on Sunday 21/04/2013
Of the 2012 vintage, Olly Smith said: "Wine-maker Pascal Poussevin has conjured this blend of Gros Manseng and Sauvignon Blanc."
The Wine Gang - www.thewinegang.com 01/06/2013
Of the 2012 vintage, The Wine Gang said: New vintage of this clever blend of Gros Manseng with 15% Sauvignon and a good example of Tesco spending a bit above the average to get a lot more character and quality in the wine. Brimful of zingy citrus and gooseberry flavours with a pinch of spice and mouthwatering acidity.
David Williams - The Observer Magazine 14/07/2012
Of the 2012 vintage, David Williams said: "The Côtes de Gascogne is a catch-all appellation which is behind any number of decent, affordable restaurant house white wines, and Tesco's own label version does the same crisp, dry job with real panache. Blending a little sauvignon blanc with gros manseng, it has a pungent tang of grapefruit and lemon, and a light, lip-smacking affinity with fish and seafood off the grill."
David Williams - Observer Food Monthly 08/12/2013
Of the 2012 vintage, David Williams said: "With its tangy grapefruit, faintly grassy pungency and crystal-clear acidity, this spry dry white made mostly from the local gros manseng (with a bit of sauvignon blanc) in Armagnac - and - duck country in Gascon is more than a match for Kiwi or Loire sauvignon at this price."
